The unique woods give the guitar a brilliant and stunning finish, and it has a very nice inlay piece alone the bottom and back of the guitar.
Features: I believe this particular guitar was made in 2009, in Korea. Typical 20 fret cut-away design, with a laminated Doa wood top, back and sides, and a Nato neck. The unique woods give the guitar a brilliant and stunning finish, and it has a very nice inlay piece alone the bottom and back of the guitar. Gold hardware really tops it off, I constantly get compliments on the finish and look of the guitar from fellow guitarists, and non-musicians as well. It also has a built in Fishman tuner/3-band EQ/output, and it feels sturdy to use, the battery is easy to replace and works marvelously. // 9
Sound: The sound from the woods is very bright, if you're looking for a darker toned Acoustic this won't certainly isn't for you. Changing from the standard strings may help, depending on what you favor. The guitar sounds great though, very clear bright tone. The electronic pickup even sounds quite well over just a generic 1x8 bass amp. I prefer the sound of my Acoustic alone, without the aid of speakers but the tuner sold me on the electric part. // 7
Action, Fit & Finish: The guitar came set up just fine. The wood is very nice, has a great clear finish on it it really does look like a much more expensive guitar than $400. The tuners aren't fumbly or cheap feeling, and it tunes easy and holds it's tune remarkably well. The action is very nice, easily letting you play lead work on it, but firm enough to make fingering a chord smooth and simple. // 9
Reliability & Durability: The guitar seems well made. I've had it for a few months now, and it's easily survived any drunken nights that have been thrown at it without question. I do try and take care of my equipment though. The original battery is holding up fine, so the tuner doesn't seem to eat through batteries like some. I can't comment entirely on playing it through an amp using the EQ, that very well may eat batteries but I've never played it more than a few minutes on an amp because it's so brilliant by itself. // 8
Impression: The guitar certainly is not a $1400 Martin or Taylor. However, it doesn't act or sound as a $400 guitar either. It's a very good value for the price - but the brightness of it is something everyone may not be sold on. I recommend if this guitar is fitting your price range, at least giving it your time of day to sit and play with one. You may be very surprised at the guitar, and may end up taking it home. // 8
